Catching up

This is a bunch of drawings from the past couple of weeks. Mix of a whole bunch of material from class and homework. I hated the conte the first day we used it. I guess I just didn't have the feel for it yet. The second day I tried doing something different and I loved how the drawings turned out. For one I changed paper to newsprint and I slowed down. I definitely used a different way of drawing that I have never done before. The prisma colors were fun to use. I used different methods and ways of using and drawing with the prisma colors. It is definitely a slow process but if given a long enough time the drawing can look really good. Our long drawing on the first day is my favorite drawing so far. I got a background in it, I got a range of lights to darks on all the colors. I didnt just stay with the same color. I also really enjoyed the colors I picked. I picked purple blue and yellow. I used the blue and purple for different shadow effects. One could be used as the darker shadows and the other as the lighter. I used the yellow for just the light on the model.

So far in this class, I believe these are my most improved or best ones. While in the charcoal stage of the class, I have definitely been able to see i better improvement in value and other details. I love working with charcoal. To me it is easier. I think that is why most of these are my favorite ones. There are a couple that i really wish was finished because they would be so much better, but even how they are right now they have so much detail and character in them.

First Blog

My view on this class is I think it will be a great way to learn to draw the Human Form better. I am excited to see the end results this class leaves with me. So far I am enjoying it and what we did in class on Tuesday 1/25/11.
